Measurement method and comparison limits
Integrated LUFS describes programme loudness; LRA describes longer-term loudness variation. Crest factor is sample peak minus whole-file RMS, not a proprietary DR score. True peak estimates inter-sample peaks. Band percentages describe relative 20 Hz–20 kHz stereo power using Welch spectra, not an EQ transfer curve. Correlation and side/mid energy describe stereo differences.
Matched clips use the same 40-second passage, starting 30 seconds into the aligned common overlap, constant gain and at least 1 dB estimated true-peak headroom, without added limiting. Lucy Knows retains small local timing differences of up to approximately 4 ms in spot checks; it is not suitable for a sample-accurate null test. The second after file is 6:27 versus 3:04 before; the public players use the same 40-second excerpt from each aligned version. The expandable source-file measurements describe the full original recordings and are not strictly like-for-like across different durations.
Music files cannot establish a sine-wave transfer response or prove hardware causality. Both after originals have estimated true peaks above 0 dBTP; matched versions provide headroom.
